“Lyra” Bell mounted solid brass Armillary Sphere

Made from a minimum of 3.5mm(1/8th inch) thick brass strip to form the globes. (Arrows and feathers will be thinner). Mounted on a 5¾” brass bell. (I can source larger bells for the 500mm dial)

Comes as standard with large  arrows/tails (as shown right) , The time band shows GMT and British Summer Time.

“Lyra” features an open equatorial ring which gives a clear shadow of the gnomon on the time band; full rings can obscure the time reading around the period of the spring and autumn equinox. Includes engraving  of your choice around the outside of the Horizon ring.

“Pegasus”  Ring mounted solid brass Armillary Sphere

Made from a minimum of 3.5mm(1/8th inch) thick brass strip to form the globes.

Mounted on a brass ring which has provision for theft resistant fastening to the plinth.

Comes with small arrows/tails (can be made without arrows) , The time band shows GMT and British Summer Time.

“Pegasus” features a thinner gauge closing ring to the equatorial band.( This can be omitted)Includes engraving around the outside of the Horizon ring.

This dial is  now adjustable for Latitude; so if you move, the dial can easily be reset to match the Latitude of your new house*

“Andromeda” Bell mounted solid copper* Armillary Sphere

Made from a minimum of 3.5mm(1/8th inch) thick copper strip to form the globes. (Arrows and feathers will be thinner). Mounted on a brass ships bell.

Comes as standard with large  arrows/tails (as shown right) , GMT time band in roman numerals and choice of engraving to outside of the horizon ring.

“Andromeda” features an open equatorial ring which gives a clear shadow of the gnomon on the time band; full rings can obscure the time reading around the period of the spring and autumn equnox. Supplied with a light patination which will develop over time into the rich effect as shown to the the right.

*NB. The bell is a copper plated brass ships bell.

Made for  your specific latitude for accuracy, reads local apparent time.

Delivery times may be a little longer for this dial to allow the patination process to begin.

“Cassiopeia”  Ring mounted Armillary sphere.

Made from thicker gauge solid brass strip and bar the “Cassiopeia” Armillary design is a more complex dial featuring a full equatorial band and rings marking the tropics of Capricorn & Cancer and arctic/antarctic circles. The gnomon is enclosed without arrow head and tails.This dial is made for a specific Latitude and is not adjustable. The meridian ring to the front is pierced to allow a good shadow on the timeband at noon. The time band on “Cassiopeia” can be longitude adjusted for a small extra charge.

“Cassiopeia” can be made with an Equation of Time Plate for plinth mounting showing longitude adjustment, this will allow “clock time” to be read from the dial.

All above includes engraving to outer side of Horizontal ring, Roman numerals GMT time band marked with hours, half hours and quarters.

An arrow head and tail can also be added to the gnomon.
